PLANT

New Guinea Gold – An unusual form from Papua New Guinea that has a peculiar habit of producing variegated leaves only at certain times of the year (typically late summer through Autumn) occasionally missing out entirely in a year. This is not a typical case of variegation reversion since for the most part the plant does return to producing variegated leaves each year. There seems to be no apparent reason for this behaviour. This very beautiful plant is quite different from the typical elephant ear. This variety makes an excellent container plant as well as a beautiful landscape plant for the tropical garden. The growth rate and leaf colour of New Guinea Gold will vary greatly depending on soil type, sunlight, temperature and other factors.

*Please note the following conditions:

*Plant sent bare rooted wrapped with damp sphagnum moss. Plant chosen at random by us. Pictures are similar to the plant you will receive. Plants are grown in an open greenhouse and are subject to natural conditions such as grasshoppers, minor blemishes. Sizes can also vary after drying + packing so may appear a little different than from the photo shown.
